I love my mom, but I don't always understand her. She's an unemployed, bored, middle-aged woman who lives on facebook 24/7. She'll sometimes have this weird, obsessive behavior and I can't help but look down on her. Right now she's dealing with a psycho ex-boyfriend who's been stalking her for the past several months. He drives by her house all the time and tries to follow her everywhere she goes, he'll constantly send her letters and flowers. Instead of nipping this in the bud and taking legal action, something she should have done six months ago, she has become obsessed with the stalking. It's almost as if she wants him to stalk her so she can run and tell someone about it. I'm guessing that she's so bored that she thrives on the attention she's getting from it.
She's been posting all kinds of updates about the stalking on facebook. Yesterday she posted a short video that she recorded on her phone of her ex-boyfriend actually following her on foot in the park near her house. Right now, it seems to be thrilling for her in a sick sort of way, but what she doesn't seem to understand is that the stalking is beginning to take on a new level and it's becoming more dangerous. She won't admit it, but she is not over the whole relationship, she still looks up her ex-boyfriend's bank account online. It's really pathetic. She says that she's actually going to get a protection order today, we'll see if that actually happens. I'll be sure to check facebook later to find out.

bad place to be I would be very scared for your moms sake. Shes a grown woman, and knows what she can and cant deal with. But sounds like, this guy isnt backing down, and its giving your mom some drama so she likes it a bit. But in the long run as you already know, its prob not the best situation and could lead to bad results. Hope she gets the help she needs. |
