I don't know what the President has proposed and all the contraversy about it, but we do need a reform, not on insurance but the training of our so called health care professionals. I work in a medical center and I work with a bunch of idots.
What do they teach in nursing school? I have an extensive medical back ground and only do my present job because of a disability. I can't believe what goes on! I worked emergency nursing for years. Now I alert the staff because of life threatning heart dysrymisas and get put on hold, just like some 911 incidents, get told the patient is sleeping and in fact are dead or my latest one that the patient is lying on their left side and that why their heart is beating at 140 times per minute.
Why do they pay nurses so much? Just because they have a piece of paper that say they are a registered nurse? The fact is LPN's are much smarter and with the nursing shortage, why do they not hire Medical assistants or Paramedics both which are much harder than nursing school. I'll tell you why. Insurance Companies!!!I precepted new nursing grads. They sure can write a paper, but know nothing about the human body. Good luck the next time you are admitted to a hospital!
